Nordberg® GP7™ secondary cone crusher for efficient secondary crushing

Nordberg® GP7™ secondary cone crusher is the largest model in the popular Nordberg® GP Series™ cone crusher product family.

Nordberg® GP7™ cone crusher is often used to replace a secondary gyratory crusher.


Nordberg® GP7™ secondary cone crusher offers high crushing performance and top-end product quality especially on the secondary stage of size reduction.

The ultimate performance is resulting from Nordberg® GP7™ cone crusher’s large feed opening and highest power rating in its size class.

The cavity and easily changeable stroke ensure high performance when using a power rating as high as 560 kW (750 hp).

Long lasting liners, efficient adjustable stroke and large setting range bring optimal use of high power. The feed opening of 450 mm (18”) remains constant throughout the liners’ lifetime.


Nordberg® GP7™ is one of the GP Secondary cone crusher models. GP Secondary cone crushers are specifically designed for sometimes demanding secondary crushing stage where the feed flow may variate, and the feed size can be anything between extra coarse and extra fine. GP secondaries’ main feature is the capability to accept extra-large feed material versus their physical size. This “feed opening to weight ratio” enables optimization of the operating expenses and maximize uptime for the whole crushing circuit.

GP Secondaries’ big feed opening prevents blockages in the crusher. Big feed opening enables also the primary jaw crusher to be operated with more open closed side setting (CSS). Larger CSS enables significantly longer lifetime of the jaw dies and higher productivity of the plant. Constant feed opening and wear compensation, in turn, minimize the need to adjust the primary crusher’s parameters during operation.

Steep cavity of the GP Secondary cone crushers and the possibility to obtain shorter stroke ensure trouble-free operation in varying feed conditions with a high reduction ratio. This enables also situation where less quarry fines have to go to waste and can be made as an end product. Steep cavity enables also easier flow of slabby, slippery or moist feed material.


Nordberg® GP7™ secondary cone crusher is designed to crush also the hardest feed materials. It is built of the latest high-quality steel components, manganese materials, and metallurgical compounds.  

The simple but strong two-point supported shaft design is mechanically reliable, and Metso’s IC50 crusher automation system continuously monitors crusher load and operating parameters to ensure optimal performance level, maximized availability and smooth process adaptation.


Nordberg® GP7™ secondary cone crusher has the biggest throughput in its size class. It has a large and stable feed opening, steep cavity and effective stokes.

Seven strokes are available as standard, which allows selecting the suitable combination of strokes according to an application.

Nordberg® GP7™ secondary cone crusher has the same footprint as Symons 7’ crusher. Therefore, it is easy to replace an old crusher with a new Nordberg® GP7™ if required.


Nordberg® GP7™ secondary cone crusher is safe and easy to operate and maintain.

Maintaining is made simple through a limited number of service points. As with all Nordberg® GP Series™ cone crushers, Nordberg® GP7™ is delivered with all tools required for safe maintenance work.

The process control is based on advanced Metso Outotec IC automation that provides easy, safe, and trouble-free operation. With the help of crusher automation, the Nordberg GP7 cone crushers can be adjusted from a distance which reduces risks and improves the safety of the plant personnel.
