Webinar series: Sustainable & Profitable Mineral Processing

Introducing a new webinar series on Sustainable & Profitable Mineral Processing.

We are in the middle of the COVID-19 and almost all tradeshows and conferences either have been canceled or postponed. We virtualized presentations of our top experts to continue informing our customers and partners about our latest technologies and solutions.

Please find below the calendar of upcoming and on-demand webinars and the relevant link through which you can register and connect to the BrightTalk platform. An online (one -time) registration is required. Each webinar is recorded and available on-demand after the live webinar session.

The list of webinars will continue to be expanded. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Liberate your profit with the Outotec® HIGmill, the leading fine and ultrafine grinding technology During this webinar our speakers Riddhika Jain, Product Manager, and Bjorn Nielsen, Director, Product Management Grinding will discuss how the HIGmill optimizes grinding efficiency and maximizes operating profitability and will share cases of projects where significant economic and environmental benefits were achieved

12 May, 09:00 am EEST (GMT +3); Sydney, 4:00 pm Advantages and limitations of HD paste - part 1 Most sites operate their thickeners well trying to maintain a balance between water recovery, overflow clarity and flocculant consumption, when managing a HD paste facility, the demands for underflow density are unrelenting. The advantages of HD paste are not always obvious, and we look at quantifying the direct and indirect benefits. No analysis of benefits is ever useful unless the disadvantages are evaluated, and we take a quick look at some of the negatives Watch recording and download the presentation
14 May, 09:00 am EEST (GMT +3); Sydney, 4:00 pm Practical solutions for mine tailings and water - part 2 Dry stacking successes?Water efficiency is not the only driver for dry stacking. Several gold producers are implementing dry stacking in Artic environments where the sites are water positive to achieve minimum environmental impact and minimise the risk of tails spills. Climatic conditions change some of the stacking logistics. We look at some of the more recent mine sites to embrace filtered tailingsCombining mine backfill and dry stacking is an attractive option for some sites, how to balance the demands of different systems.Reliability focus on critical tailings filtration infrastructure, in dry stack operations maintenance can be a labour-intensive operation and good planning is essential to achieve the best availability and keep control of costs Watch recording and download the presentation
19 May10:30 amEEST (GMT +3); Sydney, 17:30 pm Water stewardship. Quantity and Quality – part 3 Water stewardship is about using water in a socially equitable, environmentally sustainable, and economically beneficial way. Legislators are pushing greater transparency of use and the effluent limits in some countries are dropping to almost unmeasurable limits.Looking beyond Water availability and security what quality should our water have to optimise the returns it provides in processing and on return to the environment how can we assure the next user is better off, what actions can we take to reduce our impact on this valuable resource. 26 May4:00 pm EEST (GMT +3); Toronto, 09:00 am Geometallurgy: a key to the optimization of the mining value chain The optimization of the minerals value chain towards more economically and environmentally sustainable operations requires a holistic approach. The concept is based on value creation over the whole mining and mineral processing chain.During the webinar we will discuss on how geometallurgy provides a structured approach to evaluate, develop and manage mineral resource projects through all phases from exploration to the final product. We will be sharing example cases on optimizing projects from technical, economic and environmental points of views. Watch recording and download the presentation
28 May9:00 am EEST (GMT +3); Sydney, 4:00 pm(morning session) Minimizing Soluble Gold Losses with Continuous Management of Activated Carbon To optimize the gold leaching process and minimize soluble gold losses, one should actively manage the amount of activated carbon in the reactors by controlling the carbon pumping. However, one cannot control what one cannot measure, and therefore some means of analyzing the carbon concentration in each tank is needed. The traditional method of manual sampling and laboratory analysis is too slow, prone to significant errors and infrequent to be useful in continuous carbon management. We’ll introduce Outotec’s in-situ carbon concentration measurement – CarbonSense – and discuss control strategies for efficient carbon management. Watch recording and download the presentation
