Outotec to deliver precious metals plant for Baiyin Non Ferrous Group in China

Outotec to deliver precious metals plant for Baiyin Non Ferrous Group in China

Outotec has signed a contract with Baiyin Non Ferrous Group for the design and delivery of a new precious metals plant in Gansu Province, China. The contract value is approximately EUR 6 million.

Outotec's scope includes basic engineering, proprietary equipment and services on site. The plant is expected to be operational during the first half of 2011 and it will treat annually 4,000 tonnes of both copper and lead anode slimes in a Kaldo furnace.

"Baiyin's plant will be the third precious metals plant in China to use Outotec® Kaldo technology, which is energy efficient and environmentally sustainable. This contract won in the competitive Chinese market demonstrates Outotec's strong position in precious metals technology throughout the world," says Pertti Korhonen, CEO of Outotec.
