Outotec to deliver two iron ore sinter plants for Bhushan Steel in India

OUTOTEC OYJ PRESS RELEASE, APRIL 1, 2008 AT 1.00 PM


Outotec has been awarded a contract by Bhushan Steel Ltd (BSL) for two iron ore sinter plants to be built at BSL's integrated steel works in Meramandali, Orissa state, India.  The contract price is approximately EUR 18 million.


Outotec's scope of delivery covers basic engineering as well as proprietary and special equipment for two sinter plants with a grate area of 204 m2 each.


The new sinter plants are expected to become operational in the second half of 2010.


"Outotec has delivered more than ten iron ore sinter plants in the last five years in India. The order of these two plants consolidates our leading position as a supplier of agglomeration technologies in India", says Tapani Järvinen, Outotec's President and CEO.


The order is included in Outotec's 2008 first quarter order backlog.
