Filters are used to separate solids from liquids. The finer the particles are, the more energy has to be introduced to separate solids and liquids. High pressure filtration generates high filtrate recovery and hard dry cakes. Process improvements include but are not limited to higher yields, simplified cake handling, increased water recovery or in case of thermal drying as the next step a significant reduction in energy consumption. It is important to find the right solutions for demanding dewatering applications with ultra-fine particles.

Mika Vuorikari joined the Filtration team back in 2019 and now holds the position of Director of Industrial Filtration at Metso Outotec. Mika also has extensive experience from the mining industry and a Master's degree in Business Administration. He is located in Espoo, Finland.
