Outotec to start employee negotiations in Finland

OUTOTEC OYJ PRESS RELEASE, FEBRUARY 9, 2010 AT 9.05 AM

Outotec to start employee negotiations in Finland

Outotec will launch a new operational model globally as of April 1, 2010 in order to ensure solid financial performance in the weakened market situation. The target of the new operational model is to accelerate growth strategy implementation and to improve internal efficiency and flexibility, so that the profitability of operations can be maintained even when order intake is lower.

Because of the restructuring of businesses and declined order intake Outotec will start employee negotiations in Finland on February 11, 2010.

Initial estimate of the need for personnel reduction is globally 170 employees, of which approximately 120 employees in Finland. The effects of the restructuring on different personnel groups will be determined when detail design of the organizational structure proceeds and in employee negotiations. Possible redundancies and/or lay-offs will be realized gradually during 2010. Alternative ways for cost saving and measures to minimize the need for redundancies are also sought in the negotiations.

The outcome of the negotiations will be announced by the beginning of April 2010.
