How to apply

Application process starts by filling in an application at Metso Outotec Career pages. All open summer trainee positions can be found here.

If you are applying for a job at Metso Outotec for the first time, we would like you to start by creating your candidate account, with your personal details. After submitting, you will receive an email requesting you to verify your email address.

Once your account is created, you are ready to apply for the position of your interest or you can submit applications for several jobs.  You can apply for as many positions as you wish. We only accept applications through the recruitment system. We cannot accept applications via e-mail. When we have received your application, you will receive a confirmation email from the system.

In the recruitment process our aim is to get to know you. Your application is how you make your first impression and therefore we advise to put some effort into both the CV and your cover letter. Aim for describing your knowledge and your interest in a concise and clear manner and emphasize your merits and experience. Describe your strengths in key words and highlight strengths and experience that you feel are relevant for the position you are applying for. Besides getting to know your previous experience we also would like to hear why you are interested in the current position, what motivates you and what your future career aspirations are.

Please bear in mind that you cannot update the attachments after submitting your application, so do not submit until you have finalized all documents. By uploading the attachments as pdf-files, you can rest assure that your formatting stays as you have planned.

We will start processing the applications already during the application period and in some cases, we conduct interviews and might make the final decision already before the application period is over. Positions are filled as soon as a suitable person is found. So please submit your application as soon as possible! We might also open more summer trainee positions later during the winter or spring, so keep following our career pages.

Recruitment process

Hiring managers scan all applications and choose the most suitable candidates for the next phase of the process. If you are selected to continue you will be contacted by the hiring manager by phone of email to agree on next steps.

We will reach out to all applicants as the process advances, so you can expect our contact at some point. We will reach out to you separately on all positions you have applied for.

Interviews

If you are chosen to continue to the interview phase, we will reach out to you in person. We usually conduct one interview during the process which can be a phone/virtual interview or a face to-to-face interview. In general, interviews commence when the application period is over, but we might start interviews already during the application period.

During the interview you have a splendid opportunity to ask questions and hear more about the position you have applied for and the team you will join, if chosen for the position. Prepare for the interview by thinking about what you want to tell about yourself and what questions you might have regarding the job or us as a company. Interviews will be conducted primarily by the hiring manager.

We will follow up with all candidates about the progress of the recruitment process.
